Penn & Teller at Universal

Aug 17, 2012 Author: admin | Filed under: Disney

It’s possible!

Although all we have is speculation right now, the survey this year to determine what things attendees would like to see at Halloween Horror Nights 2012 included the popular prestidigitation pair. Penn Gillette has also been Tweeting about being in talks with Universal Orlando about something, but he won’t tell us what it is quite yet.

The dazzling duo has been involved with Universal Orlando in the past, themselves as performers and helping to promote another magician in their park. Whatever this new opportunity might be, we’re sure it’s going to be something to talk about.(source)

SeaWorld Orlando Rescues Hawksbill Turtle Hatchlings

Jul 11, 2012 Author: admin | Filed under: Disney

Two baby hawksbill turtles are being cared for by SeaWorld Orlando, thanks to two different concerned people who found them on separate beaches. Although one was found at Melbourne Beach and the other in Cocoa Beach, they were both brought to the Sea Turtle Preservation Society, who in turn brought them to SeaWorld for further examination and care.

The hatchlings are both about three weeks old and measure about 3 inches long. They’re being kept in a temperature-controlled brooder for most of their time. They do get to spend time in the water, but they’re also given lots of dry time so that they can rest and build their strength. Round-the-clock observation, feedings, and fluids are all being administered to the babies. Eventually, they’ll be released into the wild, but for now, they’re being cared for by a top-notch team of experts.

SeaWorld Orlando has already rescued ten turtles and released three into the wild. Hawksbill turtles are endangered due to both habitat degradation and human exploitation, and SeaWorld tries to make each rescue count. So far, things are looking pretty rosy for these little hatchlings, despite their rough start!

Baby Aardvark To Be New Animal Ambassador At Busch Gardens

May 15, 2012 Author: admin | Filed under: Disney

On March 26th, a bundle of joy was born at Busch Gardens - a baby aardvark! Aardvarks are difficult to find in zoos, and births in captivity are uncommon, so this rare occasion is cause for celebration!

The baby currently lives at Jambo Junction in the Nairobi section of the park, and will soon join its mother Izzy, father Friz, and year-old brother Zawadi in being an Animal Ambassador. The baby does look a little goofy now due to not having any hair yet, and as the sex cannot yet be detected, the baby hasn’t been named.

You can visit the baby daily at Jambo Junction. Stop in and say hello to this adorable new addition to the Busch Gardens remarkable aardvark family!
